Great Event Planning Starts with the ID Badge

Great Event Planning Starts with the ID Badge

When planning a meeting or event, there are lots of important details to track: venue, food, transportation, attendees, and more. With so many details to look after, it can be easy to forget one. Unfortunately, many event planners consider IDs an afterthought, yet event ID badges are an important part of a successful event. Incorporating ID badges into the early stages of event planning can save you both time and money.

Save Money on Custom Lanyards. Popular at events, custom lanyards enhance the attendee experience. When planning an event, consider ordering your custom lanyards early in the planning process. Ordering lanyards early will increase your options since some low cost custom lanyards require a 4-6 week production time.

Before you place the order for your custom lanyards, take time to think about the appropriate lanyard attachment for your event. Consider the types of activities you have planned for attendees and whether or not a breakaway feature is important.

Save Time with Data Setup. When you design your event ID badge early in the planning process, you're able to collect attendee data to accommodate the badges. If you know what information you want to display, you can organize the information accordingly. For example, you can create separate columns for first and last name, instead of grouping them together in your spreadsheet. This will save you time when you're ready to print the event ID badges!

Save Time at Registration. When you have all your ID badges complete ahead of your event, you'll be able to make the registration process fast and efficient for event attendees. Organize the completed badges so they will be easily accessible when registering attendees. Also be sure to pack ID badges in a travel case that is easy to transport and won't move your badges out of order.

By incorporating your event ID badge early into the event planning process, you'll not only save time and money, but you'll save yourself stress, too!

Case Study: Quiksilver Creates Different ID Cards on One Photo ID Card System

The principles careful ID badge planning for events applies to everyday ID badge use, too. It's important to ask a lot of questions about the use of your ID cards in order to design one that will best fit your needs.

Quiksilver, Inc., a sportswear apparel company, did exactly that when it searched for a user friendly and up-to-date photo ID system. Todd Dickson, Quiksilver's director of building security, needed a system that would allow him to create secure ID badges to represent the different levels of employees within the company.

By selecting an ID Maker photo ID card system, Todd was able to create and print different ID card designs that are tamper-resistant. He includes the employee photo along with the company logo. For added security, he also includes a watermark of the employee's photo in the corner.
